We've all come down with something this past week. It hit Justin first, then me, and now John. Wish I could say I took a day off work to enjoy the weather, but that's not the case. So while John is napping, I'm trying to get a little rest myself (after blogging of course).
We've also come to the conclusion this past week that John may have become allergic to disposable diapers. Although we've been using cloth at home, we still send disposables to daycare...but maybe not for much longer. This past week he got some of the worst diaper rash he's ever had. After a weekend of cloth only it had pretty well cleared up. But, we put him in a disposable due to runny poo mid-Sunday (sorry if too much!). By the next wet only change, he was bright red again. So...it may be cloth only from now on. Since nothing has changed in the food category, we couldn't think of anything else that would have caused it to be so bad.
Still working on adding new pictures to picasa - will let you know when we get it done. If anyone has any pictures they'd like to share, I'd love to see them!!!

Where does the year go?
I'm looking at the calendar and realizing that John is 15 months old today. How does time go so fast? If I can get near the computer without John throwing a fit, I'll add some pictures from this summer. It seems like Emily just got here yesterday, and yet she went back home yesterday (boohoo).
I've decided to take up cake decorating after making John's birthday cake, and Emily's creation of Hazal's Hello Kitty cake (hopefully she'll post pictures). I don't really need another hobby - the house is full of my current ones - but like mom says...I can't sit still. I'm going to take at least one or two classes with a girl from work - always helps to have a partner in crime.
All is still relatively well in the Smallwood household. John is teething and Justin is worn out from working overtime. I could use another week off work, but I doubt I'd get anything more done!

Tomatoes upside-down
Hey guys, Emily mentioned thinking about growing tomatoes in an upside-down planter when the clan came through, so when I saw this 'make your own planter', I thought I'd post the link here. Good luck with the balcony garden!

Enough time off
I think I've taken enough time off from posting things, so I'm going to try to do better to keep everyone updated.
All is well in the Smallwood household at the moment. Justin is working a lot of overtime at the schools to make up for all the rain we've had. John Carl is EVERYWHERE! He just wants to be on the move at all times. But fortunately he still likes to snuggle too. And me...working too hard and not playing enough (except with John). Looking forward to Emily being home so I can take a break and travel with her.
New pictures at picasaweb.google.com/smallwooderin COMING SOON!
